Taboo in hypertensive patients

Recent studies have found that fatty acids affect not only lipids, but also have an impact on blood pressure, especially significant effect on blood pressure in hypertensive patients.

Saturated fatty acids in the diet in countries with high intake (such as Finland and the United States), have proven that the total content of dietary fat and reduce saturated fatty acids, unsaturated fatty acids increased, so the average population blood pressure fell about 1.1kpa (8mmHg), blood pressure normal and light hypertension were significantly decreased blood pressure, hypertension, blood pressure decreased more significantly. In China, Zhoushan, Zhejiang fishermen found lower blood pressure in fishermen fish-based diet, fish rich in long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids, which may maintain a lower blood pressure in fishermen, one of the reasons.

Animal fats contain more saturated fatty acids, while plant fat with higher levels of unsaturated fatty acids. China's current small animal food, edible oil with vegetable oil-based, and thus a lower dietary saturated fatty acids, unsaturated fatty acids higher prevalence of hypertension in China than in Western countries, this may be the traditional Chinese diet on blood pressure protective effect of one of the factors. It is noteworthy that in recent years as China gradually improve people's living standards, dietary fat and animal fat content increased, the prevalence of hypertension has increased in recent years.

Therefore, patients with hypertension should eat with unsaturated fatty acids in plant and fish, eat or do not eat animal fat.
